BOOMERanG Data Suggest a Purely Baryonic Universe

چکیده

The amplitudes of peaks in the angular power spectrum of anisotropies in the microwave background radiation depend on the mass content of the universe. The second peak should be prominent when cold dark matter is dominant, but is depressed when baryons dominate. Recent microwave background data are consistent with a purely baryonic universe with Ωm = Ωb and ΩΛ ≈ 1. Subject headings: cosmic microwave background — cosmology: theory — early universe

Cmb Constraints on a Baryonic Dark Matter-dominated Universe

In recent years, upper limits on the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropies combined with predictions made by theories of galaxy formation, have been extremely powerful in ruling out purely baryonic dark matter (BDM) universes. However, it has recently been argued that the absence of a prominent second peak in the anisotropy spectrum measured by the BOOMERanG-98 and MAXIMA-1 experiments...

Formation of Large Structures in the Acceleration Universe with a Hybrid Expansion Law

In the current paper, we have studied the effect of dark energy on for-mation where dark energy exists in the background. For this purpose, we used both WMAP9 and Planck data to study how the radius changes with redshift in these mod-els. We used different data sets to fix the cosmological parameters to obtain a solution for a spherical region under collapse. The mechanism of structure formation f...

Cosmic Data Fusion

We compare and combine likelihood functions of the cos-mological parameters Ω m , h and σ 8 from the CMB, type Ia supernovae and from probes of large scale structure. We include the recent results from the CMB experiments BOOMERANG and MAXIMA-1. Our analysis assumes a flat ΛCDM cosmology with a scale-invariant adiabatic initial power spectrum. First we consider three data sets that directly pro...

Model Independent Primordial Power Spectrum from Maxima, Boomerang, and DASI Data

A model-independent determination of the primordial power spectrum of matter density fluctuations could uniquely probe physics of the very early universe, and provide powerful constraints on inflationary models. We parametrize the primordial power spectrum As(k) as an arbitrary function, and deduce its binned amplitude from the cosmic microwave background radiation anisotropy (CMB) measurements...

We discuss constraints on so-called ‘varying speed of light theories’ coming from the physics of the early universe. Specifically, we consider the position of the first acoustic peak of the CMB angular power spectrum, showing that the recent determination of its position by various CMB experiments, in particular BOOMERanG/NA, can be used to constrain the value of the speed of light c after the ...
